What are some highlights of your involvement in PMA?
There are so many highlights that come to mind, but I think the most formative experiences I had at PMA were working on my good friend Edy Kennedy's honors thesis film ("The Fixers"), The Wolves, The Awakening of Spring, and Bad Jews. Being introduced to the PMA-affiliated student organization, Cornell Ambassadors for Media and Performance, was also life-changing for me. I learned so much from each of these experiences and gained so many friendships that I will value for the rest of my life.
What are your favorite memories of PMA?
I have a lot of funny memories from 12-hour tech days and shoot days, believe it or not. Those weekends were definitely exhausting, but going through such a grueling experience with the entire cast and crew of each production really brought us all together. We laughed together, ate together, napped together, and even burst into tears together. Tech days showed me how much resilience and patience it takes to produce good work, but they also showed me how much pure joy is found through creating art with others.

I want to thank every person that I've worked on a project with or had a class with in the PMA Department. No educational experience or institution is perfect, but I really did find my people in the Schwartz. The faculty, staff, and students that I collaborated with through PMA are some of the kindest, most empathetic, and supportive people that I have ever met. The professors and administrators in PMA always showed such genuine care and encouragement towards me and other students, and they each made an effort to establish meaningful relationships with us. I am truly lucky to know all of the people that I met through the department, but I am especially thankful for my peers. I am not exaggerating when I say that I was inspired every single day by one of my friends, and I felt like we understood each other in an inexplicable way. Working with my peers is what made me realize that I wanted to practice the arts for the rest of my life. Thank you to my wonderful, talented, world-changing friends—my love for you is legitimately endless.
