The Department of Performing and Media Arts offers accommodations for people visiting the Schwartz Center and attending performances. Fill out the request form to let us know about your access needs and we will be in touch within 3 business days. Please note that certain accommodations may only be available for certain performances.

Pop-up Sensory Space

PMA has a new pop-up sensory space! It is located on the basement level of the Schwartz Center, next to the elevator and the main entrance to the Film Forum. Permanent fixtures include a puzzle table, two lamps, sound machine, over-ear noise cancelling headphones, sensory floor tiles, and two low chairs that can be shifted depending on your access needs. There will also be a rotating puzzle, drawing materials, and a variety of fidget toys to take.

This is a welcoming space for all students, especially those who are neurodivergent, allowing users to have greater control over their level of sensory input. Feel free to stop by to relax between classes, escape sensory overload, and take a breather.

Service Animals

Service Animals: We welcome service animals in our building. If you are attending a performance with a service animal, we ask that you fill out the accessibility request form so that we may prepare seating. People with Service Animals in training must notify the front office in advance of attending a performance. Please refer to this link for Cornell’s policy on service animals.

Emotional Support Animals: Please refer to this link for Cornell’s policy on emotional support animals. ESAs are not currently permitted in the Schwartz Center.
