PMA Assistant Professor Juan Manuel Aldape Muñoz has been awarded a 2026-2027 Career Enhancement Fellowship from the Institute for Citizens & Scholars. Aldape Muñoz was one of 13 fellows selected from a competitive, national pool of candidates. He recently returned from a professional development retreat in Princeton, NJ, linked to the fellowship program.
“The fellowship affords me twelve months to focus on completing my book about dance, immigration, and citizenship,” said Aldape Muñoz. “I am grateful to my department chair and the dean’s office for their support in making it possible for me to take advantage of this opportunity at an important stage in the development of the project. I am looking forward to using this time to bring the book to completion and to share this work with a broader audience.”
The Career Enhancement Fellowship, funded by the Mellon Foundation and administered by The Institute for Citizens & Scholars, seeks to increase the presence of outstanding junior faculty committed to campus engagement and thought-provoking research in the humanities and humanistic social sciences.
