Join the Department of Performing and Media Arts for Eco-Performance: Harnessing Dynamic Communication Skills to Meet the Times on Tuesday, November 18, 5:15 pm - 7 pm in Fernow Hall G24 (226 Mann Dr, Ithaca, NY).
This event will be an interdisciplinary convergence between the Department of Performing & Media Arts, Department of Environment & Sustainability, and Ecology House as part of the Climate Change Theatre Action network’s ongoing project ‘The Time is Now.'
This workshop—focused on channeling dynamic communication skills into eco-infused theatre adaptations—will begin with student project presentations:
- Laila Pines for the Wolf by Hassan Abdulrazzak, featuring: Houda Loukssi & Zach Kano
- Brackendale by Elaine Ávila, featuring: Alina Lee & Jolene Conti
- Macbeth by William Shakespeare, featuring: Kate Turk & Alex Miloszewski
Intertwining the stories of humans and other creatures, these works frame the urgency of the climate crisis as a shared interspecies call to action. Following the presentations, Theo Black (PMA professor, E&S guest instructor, and EcoHouse fellow) will guide attendees through skill-building exercises in dynamic communication—tools that can be applied across any field of study.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
