Dance Workshop with Michael Heatley, Artistic Director of Hit the Ground Running Dance Theatre Company

Join the Department of Performing and Media Arts for a dance workshop led by Michael Heatley, Artistic Director of Hit the Ground Running Dance Theatre Company. Open to all students, the workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore the company's creative process while working with an acclaimed artist known for creating expressive, movement-driven performances.

The workshop will be held on Tuesday, October 27, from 7 to 11 p.m., Dance Studio Theatre (SB10) in the Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts.

Through dynamic exercises and collaborative exploration, participants will investigate the connection between movement and human relationships, using dance as a powerful tool for storytelling. The workshop welcomes students of all experience levels.

Students interested in participating in a choreographed work for Hit the Ground Running Dance Theatre Company's April 2027 concert are especially encouraged to attend. The piece will be created during Michael Heatley's week-long residency beginning March 8, 2027, followed by intermittent rehearsals led by a student Dance Captain. Performances will take place as part of the company's concert on April 16 and 17, 2027.

Don't miss this chance to work with a visionary dance artist, develop your creativity and physicality, and experience the collaborative spirit of dance theatre. All are welcome.
