THE WILD GATHER is a 3-day call to move, honor, and celebrate the living lineages of Hip Hop dance and breaking. As part of Cornell’s yearlong mission for Freedom of Expression and in tribute of the 50-Year Anniversary of Hip Hop, PMA welcomes legendary B-Girl Rokafella to kick off and MC an ALL STYLE/FREE STYLE Cypher with DJ ha-MEEN! The cypher will gather in the Schwartz Center Flex Theatre on Friday, December 1st from 7:30pm – 8:30pm, followed by an intimate Artist Talk with Rokafella in conversation with Ben Ortiz, Curator of the Cornell Hip Hop Collection. All students, student groups, and community members are invited to attend and to participate! All dance traditions, styles, genres, experiences, and abilities are welcome and embraced. In keeping true to the origins and ethos of the cypher, performances are intended to be improvisational. Come see and be seen.
