Auditions 4/18 for fall PMA production 'Caucasian Chalk Circle'

When: Tuesday, April 18, beginning at 8:00 p.m.

Where: Flex Theatre, Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts

Auditions are open to all Cornell students, faculty, and staff.

  • Caucasian Chalk Circle by Bertolt Brecht, directed by Beth Milles

Please prepare a 1-minute monologue. If you identify as a singer, please also prepare to sing 8–16 bars of a song, a cappella.

Additionally, we will be casting actors for a reading of Roe by Lisa Loomer, also directed by Beth Milles. Rehearsals for Roe will be on Sunday, April 30, and Monday, May 1; the reading is on Tuesday, May 2, from 5:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.

About Caucasian Chalk Circle

Written by German modernist playwright Bertolt Brecht, Caucasian Chalk Circle is a parable about a peasant girl who rescues a baby and becomes a better mother than its wealthy natural parents. The play is considered one of Brecht's most celebrated works.
