This fall, PMA Alum Joshua Bastian Cole-Kurz ‘22 will be joining Hobart and William Smith Colleges as a Visiting Assistant Professor in Gender, Sexuality, and Intersectional Justice.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the vibrant intellectual community at HWS,” said Cole. “It’s refreshing—and genuinely moving—to become part of a program where shared purpose, equity, mutual respect, social justice, and student growth take center stage, not just in theory but in practice.
“I’m especially excited to engage with students in conversations that bridge lived experience, critical theory, and creative practice—supporting their efforts to pave ways to brighter futures and lives of consequence, in keeping with HWS’s mission. At HWS, preparing students to make an impact isn’t just aspirational language—it’s a lived commitment grounded in care, curiosity, and collective responsibility.
“Returning to the Finger Lakes feels like coming home, and my wife and I are genuinely excited to become part of a community that values imagination, joy, and justice in equal measure. Our dog, Dublin, is just happy to be along for the adventure (as long as there’s a sunny patch to nap in).”
