PMA's Godfrey Simmons performs "The Trump Card" on election eve

PMA faculty member and Civic Ensemble founder Godfrey L. Simmons Jr. will perform Mike Daisey's edgy, funny, and provocative monologue "The Trump Card" at the Kitchen Theatre on November 5, the eve of the 2018 midterm elections. The one-night-only performance will benefit WRFI Community Radio.

"The Trump Card" explores Trumps life story, influences, and his ascent to political power. The monologue analyzes the first reality television star turned president as a performer rather than as a politician. "The Trump Card" is neither comedic impersonation nor political diatribe and is critical of Democrats as well as Republicans. It is an examination of our current political moment and a call for self-reflection among Americans of every stripe.

Simmons comes directly from New York where he is currently performing in the hit off-Broadway play "The Winning Side." He and dramaturg Ron Russell have adapted the play which was written prior to the 2016 presidential election.

Doors at 7:00 p.m., with a cash bar and live music; show at 8:00 p.m.
