PMA/LSP Associate Professor Karen Jaime to Appear in Conversation with Historian Robin Bernstein During Ithaca is Books Festival

On Thursday, September 12, at 5PM, PMA/LSP Associate Professor Karen Jaime will be in conversation with award-winning historian Robin Bernstein at Buffalo Street Books. Part of the "Ithaca Is Books Festival," Jaime will be discussing Bernstein's new book Freeman's Challenge: The Murder That Shook America's Original Prison for Profit.

"I am incredibly excited to be in community and conversation with Robin about her new book Freeman’s Challenge as this book is a necessary and very timely intervention that pushes us to rethink what we know about the history of prisons for profit in the United States."

The Ithaca is Books Festival exists to celebrate the authors, performers, and storytellers who illuminate our world and introduce us to new ones. Events will be hosted all over town including readings and conversations. As part of the festival, the book fair will take place on The Commons on September 14-15.
