PMA Professor David Feldshuh Discusses Play “Miss Evers’ Boys” on Doctor Radio

PMA Professor David Feldshuh was interviewed on Doctor Radio Book Club, a segment of Doctor Radio on SiriusXM 110. Feldshuh spoke about his play Miss Evers’ Boys with hosts, Dr. Katherine Hochman, NYU Langone physician, and Dilshad Marolia, NYU Langone System Director, Hospitals Regulatory and Policy Management.

“Our discussion immediately focused on Miss Evers’ Boys (the play and the HBO film) and their contribution to public awareness of the unethical Tuskegee Study, a non-therapeutic, medical experiment perpetrated for forty years on African American research subjects,” said Feldshuh. “Comments from listeners included a question about the challenge of reversing the legacy of mistrust created by the study, and how to support the slow and often painful process of re-engaging patients in ethical and beneficial medical research.”

Doctor Radio Book Club is a segment of Doctor Radio that focuses on written works about medicine, health, patient experience, or physician life, and includes discussions of medical and ethical themes.
