On Friday, November 6, PMA Associate Professor Karen Jaime will take part in a curator talk called Queer Spaces, Queer Voices at El Museo del Barrio in New York City. In conjunction with Teddy Sandoval and the Butch Gardens School of Art exhibit, Jaime will join a panel with curators C. Ondine Chavoya, and David Evans Frantz. They will be discussing how bars, clubs, streets, homes, and artistic networks become spaces for gathering and exchange. The event is free and open to the public.
“As someone deeply committed to examining the kinship networks forged and maintained in nightlife, I am really looking forward to discussing the connections between queer Chicane communities and cultural spaces in LA with histories of queer Latine life in NYC,” said Jaime.
