Bold.org, a student scholarship platform, recently announced a new $6,000 scholarship for three undergraduate or graduate minority students who are interested in, already enrolled in, or are recent graduates who took courses going toward a degree in the arts. Applications for one of those three spots will be accepted until Thursday, September 30, 2021, with the winner announcement set for Halloween, Sunday, October 31, 2021.
The Diversity in Music Education Scholarship works to battle systemic barriers that are prevalent in the music industry to advocate for more diverse self-expression. Too often today are minority students belittled, underestimated, or overlooked because of their background, decreasing their exposure to opportunity and adequate education in music. Through this scholarship, we hope to open opportunities for minority students looking to excel in their musical studies and pending careers.
