Last Wednesday, Sept. 27, visionary performance artist and technologist Laurie Anderson led a workshop of original student work on the topic of "creative collaborations with AI" in the Schwartz Center Flex Theatre.
The student videos, sound pieces, songs, and exhibits were all inflected or generated by AI tools like Murf, Mubert, Runway ML and MidJourney. They included a duet called "Hands" by Liv Scap (ILR Major, PMA Minor) with lyrics written by AI, a series of AI-generated images of herself in luxury locations called "#blackwomanjoy" by Fabia St-Juste (Fine Arts Major, Film Minor), and a Runway-ML created video of fallen celestial beings called "Angels & Aliens" by Gwen Gravador (Fine Arts Major, Psychology Minor). The event, facilitated by PMA faculty member Austin Bunn, was co-sponsored by PMA and the Milstein Program in Technology and Humanity.
