Cast Profiles
Anna Evtushenko (author) is a PhD candidate in Information Science. She studies social networks from a theory and data perspective which necessitates a level of superficiality. Writing and directing dramatic works is her chance to explore human relationships at a deeper level. She is from Russia (though not from Krasnoyarsk). She is not 25.
Yingxi Li (Ally) is a senior in Operations Research Engineering. Originally from Luoyang, China, she has lived in Beijing for nine years, in Worcester, MA for four, and now in Ithaca for four - all of these are home in some sense. This is her first time acting in a full-length play. She is also a theater pianist, musical composer, novelist, and V2 climber, and has put on a reading of her original musical. After Cornell, she will pursue a PhD in Operations Research and hopefully can do something useful for the world as a scholar. If not, she will at least try to stay happy.
Jianing Zhao (Diane) is an interdisciplinary director, designer and actor from Hangzhou, China. She is interested in immersive and experiential storytelling that bridges the gaps between visual and performing arts. Most recently, she directed The Tyrannicides (2021, Riverside Theater, off-Broadway) and This Is On Fire (2020, Hangar Theater, virtual). As an actor, she trained under Guillaume Gallienne and has performed in more than 15 plays in 4 languages. She graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University with degrees in Theater and Archaeology, and is currently a JD candidate at Cornell Law School.
Dara Oyaniran (Max) is a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in biology hailing from The Bronx in NYC. He makes his theatrical debut in Mine. In his preparation for the production, he asserts that "becoming Max was a continuous exercise in self-discovery, vulnerability, and honesty."
Owen Reynolds (Nick) is delighted to return to the Cornell stage with Mine. Some of his most recent credits include [title of show] (Hunter), Avenue Q (Princeton/Rod), Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical (Jekyll & Hyde), and HumaNatures (multiple roles). A fourth-generation Miamian, he is a longtime, award-winning member of the theatrical arts. Owen is currently majoring in Architecture and minoring in Theatre and is also the President of the Midnight Comedy Troupe. With nearly a decade of experience and as a founding member of Miami Theatre Works, Owen is excited to be back on stage!
