PMA Professor Mendi Obadike and AAP Professor Keith Obadike will participate in a virtual webinar panel called “Music as Monument” as part of the Monument Lab’s Public Workshop series. The event will take place on Wednesday, February 12, from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. EST on Zoom.
Celebrate Black History Month with a listening session and conversation with Black artists who use music and sound to create monumental moments and spaces and to encapsulate history, memory, and experience. Monument Lab’s Public Workshop series, presented with major support from the Mellon Foundation, centers artists, storytellers, educators, and grassroots organizers as drivers of change in public spaces. Moderated by Monument Lab Senior Curator Yolanda Wisher, this program will feature speakers Kendrah Butler-Waters, Marc Bamuthi Joseph, and Mendi + Keith Obadike and be accompanied by a special music playlist curated by DJ lil’dave.
