A Short Film by Dehanza Rogers
A Q&A to follow with Professor Dehanza Rogers led by Dr. Samantha Sheppard.
#BlackGirlhood is a short film that explores the criminalization of Black girls in schools. We observe the struggles of three Black girls as they navigate authority and policing in the classroom. The film illustrates, in part, the school to prison pipeline and the sexual abuse to prison pipeline.
This event is free and open to the public. The Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts is located at 430 College Avenue, Ithaca, NY.
