The Department of at Cornell University is searching for two staff positions: a Communications Manager and an Assistant Technical Director.
Communications Manager
The Communications Manager participates in the development of the strategic communications plan for the Department of , an academic department with a strong performance component to its mission. In conjunction with the Communications & Events Coordinator, this position manages the implementation of the plan by executing an array of communications to convey to the campus and regional community the scholarly and artistic work of department faculty, staff and students.
This is a 75% regular benefits eligible position.

Assistant Technical Director (ATD)
The ATD is responsible for the planning and operations of the Department of scene shop, including all technical facilities and equipment, in support of a wide range of department performances and events. The ATD, in coordination with the Technical Director, assures that scenic sets are built according to schedule and in a manner that supports learning objectives and assures a valuable learning experience for production laboratory students. The ATD supervises the day-to-day operation of the scene shop, executes the engineered and technical plans for stage scenery, orders supplies and materials, maintains shop equipment, promotes safe, clean and efficient working conditions. Teaches, trains and supervises students on proper equipment protocols, lab safety procedures, and the necessary skills and procedures for the construction and finishing of scenery and properties in the production laboratory, playing a role in designing the class curriculum as well as creating and scheduling class projects in conjunction with shop faculty and staff. The ATD provides teaching, advising and mentoring support.
This is a regular, full-time recurring nine month appointment (mid-August – mid-May) paid over 12 months.
