More information on Desert of Light by Rama Haydar
Two guys, A and B, sit anxiously in an abandoned house, in a Palestinian refugee camp, in Damascus, in Syria. The camp is under siege. A and B wait to get out. Their chances of survival are slim.  In contrast to the violent conflict swirling around them, A and B sit in stillness as they consider the meaning of existence, resistance, and exile.

Cast members will have a chance to work directly with the playwright, Rama Haydar, who will join us in person for an artist residency. Ms. Haydar is an accomplished young playwright, director, and screenwriter from Damascus, Syria, currently a refugee in Malaga, Spain. This production will be part of the 2016 Cornell Biennial. And the first play in a year long season of plays written by female playwrights.
