My work takes the familiar and defamiliarizes it, in a productive way. We live in a media saturated, heavily image saturated world and part of my job is showing people that there are histories to images. There are ideologies to images. Construction matters. Meanings can be derived, formed, created, and manipulated. It’s our job as citizens of the world -- let alone scholars or students -- to be able to see the world and its images for what they are and what they can be, one frame at a time.
