A Conversation with Broadway Director Sam Gold '00 will be on Monday, March 26, 2018 from 5:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. in the Kiplinger Theatre, Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts. Professor David Feldshuh (Cornell Performing and Media Arts) will facilitate the talk.

Gold is the 2015 Tony Award-winning Best Director for the musical "Fun Home". He won a 2010 Village Voice Obie Award for Best Director for his work on the Off-Broadway plays "Circle Mirror Transformation" at Playwrights Horizons and "The Aliens" at Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre.

While at Cornell University, Gold was an active performer and director, participating in the then-Department of Theatre, Film and Dance's Advanced Undergraduate Theatre Program his senior year.

Gold's visit is possible thanks in part to an alumni gift from the family of James H. Becker, a 1917 graduate of the College of Arts & Sciences. The Becker Grant, established in 1976, helps departments within the College of Arts & Sciences bring alumni to campus to share their experiences with students.

Tickets are free but required for admittance and can be reserved online at www.schwartztickets.com or by visiting our box office from 1:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m., Monday–Saturday.

The Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts is located at 430 College Avenue in Ithaca.
